ATERONON™

  • What is ATERONON™?
  • ATERONON™ is a natural supplement that is clinically proven to help reduce the oxidation of LDL (low density lipoproteins), also known as bad cholesterol. The active ingredient in ATERONON™ is Lycopene, an antioxidant pigment that is naturally found in tomatoes and other red fruits and also the most potent and common antioxidant found in the human body.
  • Why is ATERONON™ different to other supplements?
  • While a number of other natural supplements may claim to have beneficial properties for the treatment of heart conditions, ATERONON™ has undergone extensive clinical trials and is the only natural supplement clinically proven to reduce the oxidation of LDL (low density lipoproteins).
  • Who can take ATERONON™?
  • ATERONON™ can be taken by adults who are suffering with heart disease or by adults that are seeking to take general preventive steps for their health. Combined with a healthy diet and healthy lifestyle, ATERONON™ reduces the process of LDL cholesterol oxisdation, a leading cause of atherosclerosis.
  • How long should I take ATERONON™ and when can I expect to see results?
  • ATERONON™ is best taken each day in order to maintain effective levels of lycopene in the body, in order to continue to help inhibit the oxidation of LDL cholesterol and to reduce the risk of plaque build-up in the arteries.  Clinical trials show that the oxidation of LDL cholesterol is typically reduced by more than 90% after 2 months of daily use.
  • Can I take ATERONON™ with my prescribed medicine?
  • As ATERONON™ is a naturally sourced product, it should not affect any other medication you are currently taking. However, as with other supplements we recommend that you talk to your doctor before using if you are pregnant, are breastfeeding, suffer from food allergies or are taking prescribed medication.
  • Why can’t I just eat tomatoes?
  • You should always eat plenty of fruit and vegetables, including tomatoes: ATERONON™ is not a substitute for a balanced, healthy diet. However, the lycopene in raw tomatoes is very poorly absorbed into our bodies unless it is extracted from the fruit by oil and heat. To get sufficient lycopene into the blood, most people would need to eat more than 1kg of fresh tomatoes every day. Also, the lycopene content varies between varieties of tomato and depends on the ripeness. ATERONON™ provides a convenient, standardised amount of absorbable lycopene that can supplement a good diet.

  • Who is at risk of heart disease?
  • Heart disease doesn’t discriminate and can affect anyone at any time of their life. However, certain groups of people are at greater risk than others including people aged 75 and over and those with conditions such as dyslipidemia, diabetes, hypertension and obesity.
  • What is coronary heart disease?
  • Coronary heart disease is caused by the oxidisation of LDL (low density lipoproteins) which produces fatty deposits (atheroma) on the walls of your coronary arteries – a process called atherosclerosis. The gradual build up of these deposits causes the arteries to narrow, restricting the blood and oxygen flow to the heart. Over time, the artery may become so narrow that it’s unable to deliver enough blood oxygen to your heart, especially when exerting yourself, which can lead to angina.
  • How can I reduce the risk of heart disease?
  • By making a number of small, simple changes to your lifestyle can help to keep your heart healthy and reduce your risk of developing heart disease and other problems.

    •  Stopping smoking
    •  Controlling high blood pressure
    •  Reducing your cholesterol level
    •  Being physically active on a regular basis
    •  Achieving and maintaining a healthy weight
    •  Controlling your blood glucose level if you have diabetes
    •  Eating a healthy, balanced diet
  • What is the difference between angina and a heart attack?
  • Over time, an artery may become so narrow that it’s unable to deliver adequate blood and oxygen to your heart which can lead to angina – a feeling of heaviness or tightness in the chest which may spread to the arms, neck, jaw, back or stomach. If diagnosed early, this is treatable with medication. However, if the blood supply is stopped for long enough to cause damage to the heart, it may result in a heart attack.

A heart attack occurs when a piece of fatty atheroma breaks away from the artery wall. This causes a blood clot which partially or totally interrupts the blood flow, preventing sufficient oxygen from reaching the heart. The symptoms can vary from mild chest discomfort to a severe crushing type pain which may spread to the arms, neck or jaw. It can also cause nausea, sweating, dizziness and shortness of breath.
